Marvellous place to visit if interested in art and craft. Shop has lots of lovely things to buy. Caf upstairs serving homemade cakes and fresh simple lunches. Great exhibitions, especially the annual Contemporary Craft Fair. Great place to take visitors.
Go for a wander amongst the lovely things, imagine how anyone could possibly afford any of it... Then find yourself eating the fantastic food upstairs. Then as you leave smile and buy a small pencil rubber shaped liked a hedge hog on the way out..
Lovely arts gallery right in the old River Mill next to the park in Bovey Tracey. All sorts of unique pieces mixed with some more traditional crafted arts. Lots of pricey gifts, jewelry, accessories, and art items, but a mix of some more affordable pieces as well.
Difficult to get the balance right. The quality of creative ideas to be found here is magnificent. There is an astonishing range to be dazzled by and while there are smaller items (physical and price-wise) the fact is that the prices match the craftsmanship. If you are looking for that exceptional gift or self indulgence, you may find it here.Also worth visiting simply to marvel at, as there is no hard sell or sense of intimidating exclusivity.Worth a visit.
Great place for those interested in arts and crafts with a good selection on show and of course for sale. Be warned that the attached gallery has some eye-watering price tags - not sure if a rush seat chair under any circumstances is worth 1000... But in the main shop prices are fairly reasonable for hand crafted items. Upstairs is a great cafe with really interesting and appealing food offerings and they have options to meet dietary preferences too.. Worth going for the cafe alone.
