Its very difficult trying to give your business to local shops when they seem determined to make it as difficult as possible and combine this with appalling customer service.Having bought several TVs from Vigars in the last 3-4 years I went to find out about purchasing a replacement remote for the most recent TV I bought from them (mastiff puppy chewed the original!)I arrived at the shop 10 mins before the guaranteed opening hours -9.50 am - but there were 2 staff in the shop and they were aware I was waiting.They finally opened at exactly 10.00, did not acknowledge me, nor refer to keeping me waiting - no apology - instead the staff walked around the shop turning TVs on, keeping me waiting, just a little longer...When a member of staff finally acknowledged me and my intended purchase the response was one of mild contempt - They dont keep remotes (obviously - implied if not actually said) we will need serial number model number etc etc...I will not use this shop again and having previously recommended friends and family - I would advise taking your business elsewhere - any business that treats its past & potential customers with this level of disdain does not deserve to survive.Im pleased the owner responded to my review, however the reply is disingenuous - the opening times are not clearly given on the sign on the shop door - instead they state the only guaranteed opening times are 10-1.00 due to deliveries, staff leave etc - this gives the suggestion of flexibility. If it states opening times 10-1.00 no argument but it doesnt. The member of staff was rude by omission - he didnt swear at me, true, but he made no effort to apologise or explain why the shop didnt open a few minutes earlier than the guaranteed times, he virtually ignored me while he turned the TVs on, his manner upon bring asked about a product, was given the situation totally lacking in social grace or skill. If your happy with that level of service by your staff - well that reinforces all the concerns Ive raised and ensures that i will be spending my money elsewhere and recommending to others that they do the same.Small business need to keep the good will of their local customers - if you treat others with same lack of interest or customer service then dont expect to survive in todays increasingly challenging market.

In response to the review from Brigitte West. The model that was purchased did not come with a free 5 year guarantee. We are sorry for any misunderstanding. The customer was given a full refund. Over the past 27 years we have had many thousands of happy customers.
Just gone back there to buy a New Free view Player as my old 12y one went on me. The new Humax is wonderful (small footprint but lots inside record 4 and watch one)
