Love this toy store! So much better to actually touch and feel the products you are buying than buying online. Beautifully laid out store with great variety of toys, models etc. Helpful and friendly young staff who seem to like their job. I would highly recommend this store.
Google Maps review policy seems to be a lot more basic than their search algorithms are.For the record I do not and will not submit reviews under the following circumstances:1. If I have already provided a review unless there has been a substantial passage of time since the previous review or a change that warrants an update;2. If my visit occurred over 1 month ago;3. If I only passed by a place and didn't actually visit;4. If I only obtained directions to a place using google maps but have not actually visited the destination. After all what is the value in a fictitious review and lets face it Google tracks our location more efficiently than MI5 or GCHQ and should therefore know that I haven't visited the destination in question;5. If the place in question is a chain or franchise operation that can be found in more or less the same form in many locations in the UK or indeed the world. There is little point in providing lots of detail about something people can find anywhere on their High Street; and6. If the place is my place of work or a commercial premises that I have visited in the course of my work.Austins Toy Store falls into category 2 and as such does not benefit from a review or my time in preparing one, this standard text is provided simply to dismiss Googles repeated requests for me to submit a review.
Good old-fashioned toy shop, part of a larger depth store but housed in it's own separate shop and close to Asda. Excellent choice and variety, best in town and local area and good for a browse for half hour or so. Prices are not necessarily the cheapest, (but not too far off online) , but often has some good deals, if you're looking for ideas, fed-up with faceless online shopping, want to see what you're buying or kids have some money to spend, it's worth a visit, my 4 year old loved the place!

A truly excellent toy shop (forming part of the superb Austin's Department Store). There is a wide choice of goods that is suitable for all junior needs and in particular my growing grandchildren. Bearing in mind the doom laden utterances by the pundits as to the future of shops of this nature it is good to visit somewhere that takes a positive view and is constantly expanding, improving and upgrading. Worth supporting.
