Brought a university trip here on relatively short notice, everyone had a great time! Loved the facilities, the atmosphere and Sarah was so so helpful!
Brilliant site. Would deffinatley stay there again. A very back to nature place. We saw bats, heard owls and foxes. The stars were so bright. We took our dog who also loved the place, and cooked over a fire. Compost toilet, recycling facilities, shower, water. A very eco place to stay.
This is a great basic campsite that is not too busy and it is reasonably accessible if you dont have a car. Great value for money. I really love the outdoor shower. The one negative for me was the toilet facilities which is a long drop basically a hole in the ground (yes you can see everything) Though this didnt put us off too much. I have a really really bad fear of spiders and after my partner killed four large ones at one time for me - I couldnt use it after that. Just and FYI for other arachnophobes. If you are fine with spiders this will be a perfect site for you read the other reviews.
Lovely hidden gem. No fuss Simple camping. Bell tent was lovely snug and warm. Lite a fire at night. So quiet just what we needed. Thanks we will be back
I wanted a simple quiet campsite where I could camp with my motorcycle and read a book by a camp fire. Five Wyches is exactly that. I went in August and there were other campers but plenty of space and no feeling of being crowded. Sarah was super friendly, helpful and full of great local advice. The town nearby has everything you need and I found the Cromwell Arms to be friendly and serve a good pint. I would highly recommend and will return. I would also recommend to families looking to escape suburban or city hustle and bustle.
